About Summit Restoration

My name is Dirk Benson and bringing new life into old tractors is my passion. Since I was little, I grew up working on farm machinery with my dad and my grandfathers out in our old one room schoolhouse that they had turned into a shop on the farm.

When I graduated high school, I attended Iowa lakes Community College: Farm and diesel mechanics program. Upon graduation, I came home to help my dad farm. After a few years of helping other people work on projects, we decided I would open up my own shop. January of 2016 Summit Restoration LLC was open for business.

In 2020, I married my lovely wife Jaycee and being an accountant by trade, she helps to keep the day to day business and bookwork running smoothly. Together we just welcomed our first daughter Ashlynn in April of 2023!

In my business, I strive to give people the best possible service I can and I always make it a point to communicate to my customers how their projects are coming and when they should be done. Through the years I’ve helped out in different shops around the area and I bring all the knowledge and life skills I learned into my own business every day.

I specialise in tractor/machinery repair and restoration, but I also love to work on truck performance and accessories as well! We have the tools and knowledge to do anything from simple tuneups to full engine and transmission builds! We even have a PTO Dyno ready to go!
